Anchored Dentures

Introduction to Dentures

As unfortunate as it is, tooth loss is something that affects many people and can happen at any time, for any reason. Whether it be from tooth decay, gum disease, or injury, when you have an incomplete smile, it can affect your confidence as well as your oral health. The use of Dentures is a beautiful solution for those who are looking to regain complete usage of their mouth. At Drill Dental in Boca Raton, dentures have become of our most popular treatments.

What are Dentures?

Dentures are custom-made, removable appliances that can replace a single missing tooth with all missing teeth, which ends up giving you a fully restored smile.

When you lose teeth, you can end up suffering from sagging facial muscles which causes you to look older. The use of Dentures helps fill out your profile and facial appearance. With today’s technology, Dentures can be designed to resemble your natural teeth so that your appearance won’t change too drastically.

Who are the Best Candidates for Dentures?

At Drill Dental Bar, in Boca Raton, we believe that anyone who has experienced significant tooth loss but has sufficiently healthy gum tissue and jawbone is a great candidate for Dentures.

Regardless if you require Full Dentures, Partial Dentures, or a Dental Bridge, we can help give you back your smile!

What are the Benefits of Dentures

In addition to having a fully functional mouth again, many of our patients have noticed the following benefits:

  • Easily removable for thorough and quick cleaning

  • Supported Facial Muscles

What’s the
first step?

If you’re interested in getting Dentures in Boca Raton, the first step is to get in touch. Our scheduling department will want to set up an appointment for you to come in and meet one-on-one with our head dentist, Dr. Alex Gruenberg. During your consultation, you’ll be able to ask questions, learn more about the service, and hear our expert recommendations.

What to Expect on the day of getting Dentures?

Depending on what needs to be done with your teeth, your experience may be different from another patient. If you are suffering from a broken or decaying tooth/teeth, they must be removed before having your dentures custom-made.

When you are ready to receive your dentures, you will first have an impression made of your mouth. This allows your doctor to create a custom tray designed just for you. This tray will be used to make a more detailed impression of your mouth which will allow for even the smallest details of your gum shape and underlying bone to show.

Once your smile and bite have been designed and crafted, you will get a trial fitting of your teeth (also called a wax try-in) to ensure that they look good and feel how you want them to, as well as not interfere with proper speech.

Adjustments will be made if needed and then processed to create the final product.

You should expect to have multiple appointments before receiving the final product, but that’s only because we want you to be completely satisfied with your new teeth.

Dentures Aftercare

Upon receiving your new dentures, you should make sure that you take the same care for them that you would your natural teeth. Always make sure that you’re brushing your dentures daily with a non-abrasive denture cleaner. When brushing your dentures, make sure that you brush all the surfaces, including the portion that fits against your gums. Not only will this help maintain oral hygiene, but it is incredibly important when using any kind of dental fixture. Be careful to not scrub too hard because it could cause unintentional grooves on the surface. You should soak your dentures when they are not being used in a denture-cleaning solution. This solution helps remove plaque and stubborn stains that may have been leftover from brushing. It will also disinfect your dentures, giving them a fresher feeling. It is advised that you do not wear your dentures overnight unless you have a specific reason you need to leave them in. Due to wear and tear over time, as well as gum and bone changes, your Dentures may need to be refitted. You should have routine professional cleanings performed and dental visits to ensure that they are still working properly to support your smile.
