What to Expect on the Day of All-on-4 Implants?
On the day of your All-on-4 Implant surgery, you will be administered local anesthesia. Next, two dental implants will be mounted near the front of your mouth, and two in the back at a 45° angle. This placement provides the proper stability to install an entire fixed arch. When this is performed, it prevents the need for additional procedures, such as bone grafting.
Depending on the condition of your mouth, your denture can be fitted on the same day. If your dentist does not believe your mouth is ready, you will be able to return home with the implants and a temporary denture. In this case, the final prosthesis is typically mounted three to six months later once your mouth has healed.
All-on-4 Implant Recovery
You will be able to return home the same day as your procedure, with most patients being able to return to work after a few days, or possibly up until a week. It may take about 8 months to experience a full recovery, however, most patients have seen a faster recovery period.
