THE IDEA, SIMPLY

You may not need an implant for every tooth.

An implant-supported bridge can replace several missing teeth as one connected restoration. The number and position of supports depend on the span and the available bone.

Let’s talk about your care

What is an implant-supported bridge?

A bridge is a connected set of replacement teeth. An implant-supported bridge attaches to implants placed in the jaw, rather than relying on neighboring teeth for support. The number and position of implants depend on the span being replaced and the support available.

This page focuses on several missing teeth in part of your mouth. If you need to replace a complete upper or lower set, explore our full-arch implant page.

Start with the teeth you want to replace

At your consultation, show us which spaces bother you and tell us what you want to improve: chewing, appearance, comfort, or confidence when you speak. Bring details of previous dental treatment and any questions about your current bridge or partial denture.

We will discuss the condition of the remaining teeth, the bite, and the space for the replacement. An examination and appropriate imaging help determine which options deserve a closer look.

Your options, explained together

An implant-supported bridge is one option. A bridge supported by natural teeth or a removable partial denture may also be considered. Your priorities matter: whether you want something fixed, how you will clean it, and the treatment involved.

Our implants, bridges, and dentures comparison helps you prepare for that conversation.

From planning to your finished teeth

Your plan should explain the proposed implants and replacement teeth, whether additional procedures are involved, and what you may wear between appointments. Ask us to walk through each stage so you understand what is temporary and what is final.

Healing can take months, and the schedule varies. Implant treatment carries risks, including infection and failure to heal as intended. Your dentist will discuss the considerations that apply to you.

A plan for everyday care

Before you choose a restoration, ask how to clean around it and what follow-up visits involve. A fixed bridge still needs daily care and professional maintenance.

Questions you may have.

Do I need an implant for each missing tooth?

Not necessarily. A connected bridge can be supported by fewer implants than the number of teeth it replaces. The design depends on your individual case.

Will the bridge come out at night?

A fixed implant bridge is not removed by you each night. An implant-supported removable denture is a different option.

Can you tell me the price before an examination?

We can discuss the process, but a meaningful treatment estimate needs a defined plan. Ask for the complete scope, including the replacement teeth and any additional procedures.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

Let’s make it clearer.

Is a separate implant needed for every gap?

Not always. A connected bridge may be supported by fewer implants than the number of teeth replaced.

What if all my teeth are missing?

A full-arch replacement is a different plan. Explore All-On-4 and anchored dentures.

Are implants the only option?

No. A tooth-supported bridge or removable partial denture may also be considered.
