  1. Consultation and planning

We examine the area and use a 3D scan when indicated to plan placement.

  2. Prepare the site and place the implant

Your route may be extraction followed by healing, extraction and implant placement together, or placement in an already-healed site.

  3. Healing and follow-up

Keep the appointments your doctor assigns. Your plan may include checks at two weeks, six weeks, or three months according to your case.

  4. Shape the gum

A small healing cap may be placed at surgery. If the implant heals under the gum, a later appointment uncovers it and places the cap. We typically allow about three weeks after uncovering before the restoration scan.

  5. Make and fit your crown

We scan for the crown, arrange a try-in if needed, and check the final crown’s fit and bite.

About the procedure

A dental implant is a small post placed in the jawbone to support a replacement tooth. The visible tooth is a crown, made to fit your mouth and bite.

At Drill Dental

We plan around your bone, gum health, and the tooth being replaced. Our aim is to preserve healthy tissue and use the least invasive approach that is appropriate for your case. Some implants can be placed when a tooth is removed; others need a healing stage first.
