What to Expect on the Day of All-on-4 Implants?
On the day of your All-on-4 implant surgery, one of our medical professionals will administer local anesthesia. Next, four 45° dental implants will be mounted in your mouth (two near the front of your mouth and two in the back of your mouth). This angle and placement provide the necessary stability to install an entire fixed arch and eliminate the need for additional procedures like bone grafting.
Depending on your dental health, your denture may be fitted on the same day. If your dentist does not believe your mouth is ready, you will be able to return home with the implants and a temporary denture. In these cases, the final prosthesis is usually mounted three to six months later once your mouth has completely healed.
All-on-4 Implant Recovery
You will be able to return home the same day as your procedure, with most patients being able to return to work after a few days, or possibly up until a week. It may take about 8 months to experience a full recovery, however, most patients have seen a faster recovery period.
