Recovery & concerns
Pay attention to how symptoms change. If you are unsure whether something is expected, contact your team.
What you may notice
- Gum tenderness and cold sensitivity can last for several days.
- Slight bleeding with brushing may occur at first and should decrease.
Contact your office if…
- Pain increases after a few days rather than easing.
- Bleeding is heavy or is not improving.
- You develop swelling, fever, or a painful lump on the gum.
If the gums are not improving
Some areas need additional treatment. Your re-evaluation helps us decide the next step; good home care remains part of the plan.
Medical emergency? Call 911 for trouble breathing or swallowing, rapidly spreading swelling, fainting, or other life-threatening symptoms. Do not wait for an office reply. Emergency guidance
Your doctor’s instructions take priority. If you had more than one procedure, ask your team which instructions to follow. Contact your office.
