Full-arch implants

Replacing a full upper or lower set of teeth. Also called All-on-X.

Food & drink

Your doctor sets each stage

Do not move to the next stage just because you feel better. The implants are healing under the gum, and the temporary teeth do not mean you are ready for normal chewing.

Stage 1 · Liquids

Usually around the first week, as directed. Choose smooth shakes, blended soups, broth, yogurt drinks, and thinned oatmeal. No straws. Include protein and drink enough water.

Stage 2 · Fully soft foods

Often begins around week two and may continue for several months, depending on your plan. Food must cut easily with the side of a plastic fork. Choose eggs, soft fish, soft pasta, and well-cooked vegetables. Cut food into small pieces.

Stage 3 · After final teeth

Return to a broader diet only after your final teeth are fitted and your doctor clears you. Avoid chewing ice or using your teeth to open packaging. Use a nightguard if prescribed.

Continue to avoid

  • Hard, crunchy, sticky, or chewy foods during healing.
  • Seeds, nuts, popcorn, and foods that lodge around the surgical sites.
  • Alcohol with pain medicine; very hot drinks early in recovery.

If your plan is stricter

Your doctor may keep you on liquids or fully soft foods longer because of bone quality or implant stability. Follow your personal instructions over the general schedule.

Medical emergency? Call 911 for trouble breathing or swallowing, rapidly spreading swelling, fainting, or other life-threatening symptoms. Do not wait for an office reply. Emergency guidance

Your doctor’s instructions take priority. If you had more than one procedure, ask your team which instructions to follow. Contact your office.
