Recovery & concerns
Pay attention to how symptoms change. If you are unsure whether something is expected, contact your team.
What you may notice
- The guard may feel unfamiliar at first. Mild early soreness can occur; it should not cause worsening pain.
- It should fit without being forced.
Contact your office if…
- The guard cracks, develops a rough edge, or no longer fits.
- You develop new or worsening jaw pain, locking, or clicking.
- Discomfort is not settling or makes it difficult to wear.
If the fit changes
Stop wearing a cracked or poorly fitting guard and contact us. Do not try to reshape it with heat or tools.
Medical emergency? Call 911 for trouble breathing or swallowing, rapidly spreading swelling, fainting, or other life-threatening symptoms. Do not wait for an office reply. Emergency guidance
Your doctor’s instructions take priority. If you had more than one procedure, ask your team which instructions to follow. Contact your office.
