Tooth extractions

Caring for the area after a tooth is removed.

Your appointments

Your plan may involve different appointments or healing times. Your team will explain which route applies to you.

  1. Examination and plan

We explain why removal is recommended and whether a graft or replacement is planned.

  2. Remove the tooth

The area is numbed. Stitches or a graft may be placed when needed.

  3. Heal and review

Follow the home-care plan. We review healing and discuss the next treatment step where relevant.

Medical emergency? Call 911 for trouble breathing or swallowing, rapidly spreading swelling, fainting, or other life-threatening symptoms. Do not wait for an office reply. Emergency guidance

Your doctor’s instructions take priority. If you had more than one procedure, ask your team which instructions to follow. Contact your office.
